I still think the authorities will be suspicious even though he told them he was going to shoot himself. He also had to be careful where he shot so as to not damage his heart.
This is a fairly weak and improbable story. Surprised to see it make the cut here.

It seems that, in giving her his heart he would be breaking it as well.

I think this is a true act of kindness. It’s always a beautiful thing to see people passing on good deeds. Although tragic, it is still touching.
