A great little piece! Interestingly I misread it as “he repeated her name” and it completely changes the story, it
could then be about separation, the end of something that was, rather than the end of something that never will be.
Either way, it really made me stop and think…
I did the same as the first reviewer. Both readings work–but I kind of like the way “He repeated her name…” made me think of separation. Good story–maybe you could publish the sequel.

It is very sad to see a loved one not remember who you are. Especially when you shared all sorts of precious moments!!!
